Cathy was first diagnosed with PLS in 2005, and then progressed to ALS in 2008. As a professor of chiropractic, Cathy used many holistic and some traditional approaches to ALS, worked with a skilled MD’s, naturopaths, and other natural practitioners to continually tweak her regimen. Still Cathy’s symptoms worsened. With help of a voice amplifier in her classroom she continued to teach part-time and was able to get around campus in her electric wheelchair. Her partner cut up her food and helped her with her respirator at night. She continued to address not only the treatments for the physical symptoms, but also focuses on the emotional and spiritual aspects of healing. Today Cathy has retired to focus on her health and is excited and optimistic about our abilities to heal ALS and other neurodegenerative diseases.
